Lochcarron in Wester Ross
Lochcarron is a lovely small village in the Wester Ross area of the Highlands of Scotland. It has a population of around 900 with the area growing in the summer months as people visit and stay in the area for holidays and summer breaks. The name Lochcarron is also applied to the collection of small settlements along Loch Carron which is a sea loch.
The village stretches for almost 2 miles along the shore of the loch and is between the stunning Torridon and Kintail mountain ranges with the most outstanding scenery. An ideal holiday base to explore the west highlands.
The surrounding areas include Torridon, Applecross, Plockton and the Sky bridge for you to explore many other exceptional areas in Highland Scotland and Sky.

Looking towards Strathcarron over Loch Carron. The sea loch is popular for recreational use including sailing, windsurfing and canoeing. Fishing is also popular in the loch as well in the numerous fresh water lochs and rivers in this location.
The village of Lochcarron overlooks Loch Carron and the area is a significant location for hill walking and touring the West Highlands of Scotland. The road to Applecross provides stunning scenery and is popular with visitors and we have seen deer in the middle of summer at the summit of the rather intimidating road over to Applecross, even in the middle of summer.
The Lochcarron Golf Course is situated in one of the most scenic locations for a 9 hole golf course in Scotland. The course is open to the public.

The Lochcarron Golf Club welcomes visitors and the small cafe is open to the public for teas and snacks. The car park area also has picnic tables where you can sit outside in summer and enjoy the view over Loch Carron.
